AI Connections (MCP)

Connect BaTimo to ChatGPT, Claude and other AI apps

Install BaTimo in ChatGPT or Claude with a plugin file, or connect by address, Claude Code or Cursor, from Settings > AI Connections.

This guide connects an AI app to one BaTimo company. The easiest way is the BaTimo plugin file: download it, upload it to ChatGPT or Claude, and sign in to BaTimo. No password or key is ever given to the AI app.

Open AI Connections

Sign in to the web Console and open Settings > AI Connections in the sidebar (open it). The page shows:

  • Two cards, ChatGPT and Claude, each with three steps, a Download plugin button and a button that opens the app.
  • Other ways to connect (closed by default): the MCP server URL with Copy URL (https://console.batimo.ai/mcp/manage), steps to add BaTimo by its address in ChatGPT or Claude, the Claude Code command, and files for Claude Code and Cursor.
  • Links to this guide and to BaTimo support.
  • Connected Apps: every connection to your companies, with Revoke.

In the mobile app the same page is under Home > Settings > AI Connections. The app cannot download the plugin or configuration files, so it shows a note instead of the Download plugin buttons: download them on a computer, or add BaTimo by its server address.

Before you start

  • A BaTimo account with access to the company you want to connect. What the AI can do also depends on your team permissions (for example Conversations to send WhatsApp messages). Company owners have every permission.
  • A ChatGPT or Claude account. What you can add depends on your plan and workspace settings, which BaTimo does not control.
  • For WhatsApp messaging: an active WhatsApp (QR code) channel. See Connect WhatsApp.

ChatGPT

BaTimo is not yet listed in the ChatGPT directory. Once it is, the ChatGPT card shows a link to the listing.

With the plugin file (recommended):

  1. On the ChatGPT card choose Download plugin. You get a file named like batimo-chatgpt-plugin-v1.4.0.zip.
  2. In ChatGPT open Plugins, select Add, drag the file into the New Plugin window (or click to upload it), then select Add plugin.
  3. When ChatGPT asks, connect BaTimo and approve the connection in BaTimo (see Approve the connection).
  4. Start a new chat, turn on BaTimo and try: "Check our BaTimo setup for problems."

Upload the file exactly as downloaded. Don't unzip and re-zip it, and use the ChatGPT file only in ChatGPT.

With the server address: use this if your ChatGPT account has no upload option. Adding a custom MCP server needs ChatGPT's developer mode, which OpenAI controls:

  • Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces: an admin or owner turns on developer mode in the workspace settings (permissions and roles). On Enterprise and Edu, admins can also give developer mode to selected people.
  • Personal plans: OpenAI may allow only read and fetch actions, or no custom servers at all. In that case you can read your BaTimo data but not change it.
  1. On the ChatGPT website open Plugins, select +, then Add custom MCP server.
  2. Enter BaTimo as the name and paste the server address (Other ways to connect > Copy URL) under Connection.
  3. Choose OAuth, read the warning, select I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin.
  4. Sign in to BaTimo and approve the connection.

If new BaTimo features don't show up in ChatGPT, open BaTimo in Plugins and refresh it, or add it again.

Claude

Once added, BaTimo works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile apps. On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner controls which plugins and connectors members can add.

With the plugin file (recommended):

  1. On the Claude card choose Download plugin. You get a file named like batimo-claude-plugin-v1.4.0.zip.
  2. In Claude open Customize > Plugins, select Add > Upload plugin and choose the file.
  3. Open the BaTimo plugin, go to its Connectors tab, add BaTimo and select Connect. Approve the connection in BaTimo.

On Team and Enterprise plans, if you can't add the connector yourself, ask an Owner to add it; then connect it with your own account.

With the server address:

  1. In Claude open Customize > Connectors and select Add custom connector (the Free plan allows one custom connector).
  2. Enter BaTimo as the name and paste the server address.
  3. If Claude asks how to identify itself (OAuth client), choose Register automatically and leave the client ID and secret empty. BaTimo supports automatic client registration and does not support the Use Claude's published identity option.
  4. Select Add, then Connect, and approve the connection in BaTimo.

Team and Enterprise: an Owner adds the connector once under Organization settings > Connectors > Add > Custom (with the same address and Register automatically). Members then open Customize > Connectors, find BaTimo with the Custom label and select Connect.

Claude's authentication settings cannot be changed after adding a connector. To fix them, remove BaTimo and add it again.

Claude Code

Open Other ways to connect and run the command shown there (it contains your server address):

claude mcp add --transport http batimo https://console.batimo.ai/mcp/manage

Then type /mcp in Claude Code, choose BaTimo and sign in in your browser. To share the setup with your team, choose Download .mcp.json and save the file in your project folder; Claude Code asks each person to approve and sign in. A Claude plugin you upload on claude.ai also reaches Claude Code when you sign in with the same account.

Cursor

In Other ways to connect choose Download mcp.json and save it as ~/.cursor/mcp.json (for all projects) or .cursor/mcp.json in one project. If you already have that file, copy only the batimo entry into it. Cursor asks you to sign in to BaTimo when it connects.

All downloaded files contain only the BaTimo server address. They never include passwords, keys or tokens.

Other AI apps

Other AI apps that let you add a remote MCP server (also called a custom connector) with a BaTimo sign-in can usually connect with the same address. BaTimo only gives step-by-step instructions for the apps above.

Approve the connection

When the AI app sends you to BaTimo, the consent screen shows Connect [app name]:

  1. Choose the Company to connect.
  2. Under Permissions, keep or untick:
    • Read access: view company configuration, conversations, leads, bookings, products and automations.
    • Management access: view and manage them, including deleting items after confirmation and sending WhatsApp messages.
  3. Choose Approve (or Deny).

The request is valid for about 10 minutes. If it expires, start the connection again from the AI app.

Start with Read access. Add management access when you want the AI to change settings or send messages. You can reconnect with different permissions at any time.

Manage your connections

Open Settings > AI Connections > Connected Apps. Each connection shows its name and permissions. Choose Revoke to cut off access immediately. You can also remove BaTimo in the AI app.

Tips

  • Create a separate, clearly named connection for each AI app or teammate.
  • Ask the AI to show its plan before it changes anything, and review any bulk action such as a campaign. See Campaign tutorials.

Troubleshooting

See Troubleshooting AI Connections.

Limitations

  • Each connection is for one company.
  • Your AI app stays signed in for up to 30 days; after that it asks you to sign in to BaTimo again.
  • Whether you can add a custom server depends on your ChatGPT or Claude plan and workspace settings, which BaTimo does not control.
