Troubleshooting AI Connections

Fix common problems with connecting ChatGPT or Claude to BaTimo: adding it, access errors, deletes, images, connecting channels and WhatsApp messages.

The connector cannot be added

  • ChatGPT says "Couldn't add plugin. Try again.": upload the file from the ChatGPT card in Settings > AI Connections exactly as downloaded. Don't unzip and re-zip it, and don't use the Claude file in ChatGPT. Download it again if in doubt.
  • ChatGPT has no Add or upload option on the Plugins page: your account or workspace doesn't allow plugin uploads. Add BaTimo by its server address instead (see below).
  • Claude rejects the uploaded file: use the file from the Claude card, unchanged. On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner may have turned off plugin uploads; ask them, or add BaTimo as a custom connector.
  • The uploaded plugin is added but BaTimo doesn't work in chat: connect it. In ChatGPT, connect BaTimo when asked; in Claude, open the plugin's Connectors tab, add BaTimo and select Connect, then approve the connection in BaTimo.
  • ChatGPT has no "Add custom MCP server" option: custom servers need developer mode. On Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces ask your admin to turn it on (in the workspace's permissions and roles settings). Personal plans may not offer it, or may only allow reading. Use the ChatGPT website to add it.
  • Claude has no "Add custom connector" option: on Team and Enterprise plans only an Owner can add it under Organization settings > Connectors; members then select Connect. The Free plan allows one custom connector, so remove another one first.
  • Claude cannot sign in to BaTimo after adding it: check the OAuth client choice. BaTimo needs Register automatically (leave client ID and secret empty) and does not support Use Claude's published identity. Authentication settings cannot be edited, so remove BaTimo and add it again.
  • Claude Code says it needs authentication: type /mcp, choose BaTimo and sign in in your browser.
  • Cursor does not show BaTimo: check that the file is saved as ~/.cursor/mcp.json or .cursor/mcp.json. If you copied BaTimo into a file you already had, make sure the file still has only one list of servers and no missing commas or brackets.
  • "Server not found" or 404 on the BaTimo address: AI Connections are unavailable right now (the AI Connections page says so), or the address is wrong. Copy it again with Copy URL in Settings > AI Connections, and contact BaTimo support if it persists.
  • Sign-in loops or "not authorized": sign in to the correct BaTimo account. The connector requires choosing a company on the consent screen.
  • "Missing or invalid connection request" or "request not found or expired": the approval link is valid for about 10 minutes. Start the connection again from the AI app.

Something is missing or out of date

Ask your AI app to refresh or reconnect BaTimo. After a refresh, everything BaTimo offers should appear. A connection added before October 2026 may still show the old name BaTimo Business Workspace; it keeps working.

Error messages from BaTimo

A channel does not connect

The AI can't sign in to Instagram or WhatsApp for you. Open the link it gives you, finish signing in on that Console page, then ask the AI to check again. If the channel is on but not connected, it receives no messages; BaTimo's setup check reports this when you ask the AI to check your setup.

Revoke and start over

Open Settings > AI Connections > Connected Apps, choose Revoke, remove the connector in the AI app, then add it again.

Still stuck?

Open Settings > Support in the sidebar and include the connector name, time of the error and the message you saw.
