Teach your assistant about your business
Add business details, goals, offerings, FAQs, policies, workflows and handoff rules so your assistant answers accurately.
The more accurate and specific information the assistant has, the better its answers. This page explains each place you can add it.
Business information
In Company Details enter your Business Name, Business Phone, Business Email, Business Address, Business Website and Social Media Links. Use the Hours of Operation picker: choose 24/7 - Always Open, Custom Schedule per day (with From, To or Closed), then edit the generated Business Hours text. You can add holiday hours in that text.
Goals and audience
- Business Goals: what should the assistant help customers accomplish (for example "Help customers choose the right service"). At least one goal is required.
- Target Audience and Product/Service Description: who you serve and what you sell.
Offerings
Offerings describe your main services, simple plans or key products customers should understand: Offering name, Best suited for, a short description, key features (comma separated) and a link. Current prices should stay in your live catalog (products or booking services); the assistant reads those directly.
FAQs
Add Frequently Asked Questions as question and answer pairs (Add FAQ). FAQs are also shown in the website chat's home screen if you choose them there. See Website chat widget.
Policies, workflows and handoff
Under Add knowledge or rules you can add only what your assistant needs:
- Add policy: concise policies customers ask about: returns, refunds, shipping, cancellations, guarantees.
- Add custom workflow: a multi-step process, with a name, when it starts, the steps to follow, the expected outcome, and when to hand it to a human.
- Add human handoff: Handoff Triggers (for example "customer requests a custom contract") and Handoff instructions (what to collect and tell the customer). See Human handoff.
Knowledge sources
The Knowledge sources area shows which live sources the assistant uses and whether each is Connected:
- Products from your catalog.
- Booking services.
- Website (your sitemap source).
- Documents you uploaded. See Knowledge documents.
Tips
- Put stable facts (hours, policies, FAQs) here. Put frequently changing facts (prices, availability) in products, services and documents.
- Write FAQs the way customers actually ask. Short, factual answers work best.
- Review the prompt preview after big edits.
Troubleshooting
- The assistant invents details: add the missing fact as an FAQ or document, and add a forbidden action such as "Do not guess prices". Then run a test.
- Old information keeps appearing: update or delete the outdated document in Knowledge sources.
Limitations
- Some limits apply: business phone 20 characters, business email 100, address 300, website 200, hours 500.
